A proposed USF maritime science center survives DeSantis’ price range vetoes

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the spending budget for the 2023-24 fiscal calendar year Thursday, and this time his list of vetoes did not consist of $24.3 million that would go towards the facility.

“This facility will boost St. Petersburg as a planet-class heart of marine and environmental science, instruction and community engagement,” USF President Rhea Law reported in a statement.

It was a selection of USF-related things Law highlighted in the spending plan, such as:
